The Idea Born on the Shores of Lake Ceresio
In 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ivan noticed something unusual on a fishing trip to Lake Lugano (Ceresio). The lures he had been using – all foreign-made – seemed to perform best only after the tail had been damaged. What he wanted was a lure that worked effectively from the very first cast and could adapt to multiple fishing techniques.
This sparked a long journey of evenings and weekends filled with work, research, and testing. After two years of development, in June 2022, the first Pontotech lure was born: a 10 cm bait made from food-grade silicone, compliant with EU standards, enriched with natural scents for an incredibly realistic movement and texture – irresistible to predatory fish such as perch, zander, pike, and trout.
The results were outstanding: not only for Ivan, but also for many other anglers in the region and beyond, who achieved remarkable catches.
From Dream to Reality: The Birth of Pontotech
In January 2023, after the success of the first tests, Pontotech Sagl was officially founded. Our mission is clear: to combine innovation, quality, and social responsibility.
Part of our production is carried out in collaboration with the Fondazione Diamante in Mendrisio, providing local employment and fostering social inclusion. The project has also been supported by the Economic Development Agency of Basso Ceresio and Mendrisiotto, confirming its importance for the region.
Technology and Customization
For prototype development, we use innovative 3D printing technology, which drastically reduces costs and allows us to produce molds ready for manufacturing in record time. We are the only company in Switzerland and Europe to offer a full custom lure development service for shops and brands – from design, to production, to packaging.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
We have developed the first rigid boxes made from corn starch, 3D-printed and fully biodegradable – an innovation that combines product protection with environmental care. In addition to our own products, we also provide eco-friendly packaging solutions to other manufacturers looking to reduce their environmental impact.
The Heart of Pontotech
Our lures are more than just fishing gear – they are the result of authentic passion, field-tested development, and a deep connection to our region. They “work like a charm” because they are made by anglers, for anglers, and are built to perform in any condition.
